Most Muay Thai apps are video libraries. mmaGPT reviews the teep, the kick chamber and the clinch posture in your own clip, then gives you one drill for each mistake it finds.
- Teep mechanics and recovery
- Kick chamber and support foot
- Clinch posture and frames
- Guard and defensive shape
- A drill for each mistake
First analysis free with full feedback. Plans from $9 a month after that.
Why a Muay Thai app should watch you, not just teach you.
There is no shortage of Muay Thai instruction available. You can watch a Thai champion break down the round kick for free this afternoon, and it will be excellent. What you cannot get from it is the thing that is actually holding you back, because it is specific to you and nobody in that video has seen you throw a kick.
It is usually small and mechanical. Your support foot does not pivot all the way, so every round kick lands short and loads your knee. Your teep goes out from the knee with no hip behind it, which makes it a push rather than a stop. Your hands come down when you kick, which is fine on a bag and expensive against a person. Your clinch posture has your head up and your hips away, so you get turned every time. A trainer watching one round of your pads would catch all of that in a minute, and that is exactly the minute a busy gym cannot always give you.
mmaGPT fills that gap. Film one round, upload it in the browser, and in about 30 to 45 seconds you get timestamped notes on what went wrong plus a drill for each item. It works alongside your trainer, never instead of one: pad feel, timing and clinch pressure come from a person holding pads, and this is a second set of eyes for the rounds nobody watched.
How it works
Upload a round, get the fix.
1. Film 20 to 60 seconds
Phone on a bench or a bag at hip height, filming from the side so your whole body is in frame, feet included. The feet are the part people crop out and the part most kicking mistakes live in. One round of pads, one round on the bag or thirty seconds of clinch work is plenty.
2. Upload it in your browser
mmaGPT runs in the browser on iPhone, Android and desktop with nothing to download. Pick Muay Thai as the discipline and set your experience level, and the feedback is calibrated to it: a beginner hears about the support foot and the guard, a fighter hears about timing, setups and recovery.
3. Read the notes and run the drill
You get a timestamp for each mistake, a plain description of what happened at that moment, and one drill that fixes it. For example: at 0:22 your right hand drops to your hip as you throw the left round kick, so the counter cross is free; the drill is three rounds of kicks thrown with a towel gripped in the rear hand at chin height. Take it to your next session and ask your trainer to watch for it.
What it grades
The mechanics that decide rounds.
- Teep: knee lift, hip drive, and how fast the leg comes back
- Round kick: chamber, support foot pivot, hip rotation, recovery
- Knees and elbows: range, posture and the weight behind them
- Clinch: head position, hip contact, frames, grip and sweep timing
- Guard and defensive shape, including the hand that drops when you kick
- Balance and stance, especially after a missed kick
Defensive problems come first in every review. If your kick is short and your guard is open, the guard gets addressed first, because the mistake that gets you hit matters more than the one that costs you power.
Fitting it into training
Where it sits between sessions.
A typical Muay Thai week is two or three classes plus bag work at home. The classes are where you get hands-on coaching, and the home work is where habits set, because nobody is there to correct them. If your support foot does not turn in your garage, it will not turn in the ring either.
The rhythm that works is one upload a week. Film the thing you are trying to change, read the note, run the drill for a week, then film the same thing again and see whether the note has moved. That loop is the whole point. A month of it changes a kick; a year of unchecked repetition entrenches one.
If you train on rounds, the free round timer on this site runs in the same browser, so you can time the round and film it with one phone.

FAQ
Muay Thai app: common questions.
- mmaGPT reviews a clip of your pad work, bag work or sparring and returns timestamped notes on teep mechanics, kick chamber, clinch posture and defensive shape, plus one drill for each mistake. It takes about 30 to 45 seconds, and your first analysis is free.
- Yes, mmaGPT grades clinch posture, frame and grip placement, and the weight transfer on knees and sweeps, because the clinch is where Muay Thai rounds are usually decided. Film from the side with both bodies in frame and it reads head position and hip contact as well.
- Yes, mmaGPT grades the chamber, the hip rotation, the support foot pivot and the recovery against the target you actually kicked, so a low kick is not marked down for being low. A leg kick that lands with a flat support foot and a head kick that lands with a flat support foot get the same note, because that fault is the same.
- Yes, bag and shadow work review well, and for solo training they are often more useful than sparring footage because the mistakes are cleaner to see. mmaGPT reads your mechanics, your balance and your guard, and it does not care whether there is a partner in the shot.
- mmaGPT is the best Muay Thai training app if you want feedback on your own pads, bag work and sparring: upload a clip and get timestamped notes plus a drill for each mistake, in your phone's browser, with the first analysis free. See the full list of the best Muay Thai apps for other options.
- mmaGPT is a web app, so it runs in the browser on your iPhone or Android phone with nothing to download; open mmagpt.app and your first Muay Thai review is free. A native app is in development.
- Your first analysis is free with full feedback and no card needed. Paid plans start at $9/month for 3 analyses, $19/month for 8, $29/month for 16, and $49/month for 45. Pay yearly and every plan gets 2 months free, so Pro works out to US$24.17 a month. Analysis packs start at $3.99.
