How mmaGPT coaches a round.

  1. Between classes Class ends, and at home you are guessing. Training twice a week with nothing in between, progress stalls.
  2. Film a round Record a training clip on your phone, here a 24-second BJJ roll, and upload it. mmaGPT analyzes the round.
  3. Moments in the clip It breaks the round down like a coach, with timestamps: hips stay flat during the reset at 0:02, good active foot pummeling at 0:03, a collapsed upper-body frame at 0:09.
  4. What worked What you did well: at 0:03 your feet pummel back inside your partner’s torso to slow the pass and keep a guard connection.
  5. Your priority The one thing to fix first: hips and shoulders stay flat on the mat at 0:02 and again at 0:09. Remember: hip first, knee shield next.
  6. Your drill A drill to fix it, step by step: hip escape to knee shield, 4 rounds of 2 minutes, switching sides.
  7. Try it today What a good rep looks like: you reach your side before the pressure lands, and your knee shield blocks the drive. Today’s practice: 15 hip escapes to knee shield on each side.
  8. Keep improving Practice first, then film 10 to 20 seconds of the drill to check the adjustment. Keep getting better between classes.

Inside the report

What worked. What to fix.
What comes next.

Every report runs in the order a good coach talks: something real you did well, the one correction that matters most, then the progress you made and what the next report checks.

Praise tied to a moment in your clip. Never generic, and never the move it is about to correct.

Fix this first

Hips and shoulders stay flat on the mat

At 0:02 and again at 0:09, your shoulders stay pinned down while your hips face the ceiling during the guard reset. That lets the top player drive over your legs and settle into side control.

The fix

Turn onto your bottom hip before the passing pressure arrives.

Your drill

Hip escape to knee shield

4 rounds x 2 min, switching sides
  1. 1Setup. Start on your back with your partner standing in open guard.
  2. 2Action. As they step around, plant your outside foot, shrimp away, and slide your bottom knee across their belt line.
  3. 3Check. Only your bottom hip and shoulder touch the mat. Your top knee and elbow make a tight shield.
  4. 4Reset. Square up, let your partner switch sides, and repeat.
What good looks like

Inside the report · Ask coach

Ask it why.
Right on the report.

Why does my lead hand drop every time I throw the kick?

Your body is balancing the kick. As the hip turns, your arms swing to counter the rotation and the lead hand goes with them. Give that hand a job before the kick starts: glove on the temple, shoulder up. Once that is automatic, the kick keeps its power and the opening closes.
